It seems disconcerting for many of his opponents. AmberT is top tier player whose style is closest to WP tactics, and when he's doing it he relies heavily on cost effective medium armor engaging en masse at short range against enemy supers. Think of it as an attempt to overwhelm enemy micro in the simplest, most macro oriented manner possible. Closest thing to it in WRD terms is the tank rush, but that fails to really capture the nature of it. This level of balls to the wall aggression is only sustainable if you know you've got numerical superiority at all levels thanks to operational concentration and an opponent that relies on terrain usage and withdrawal oriented tactics. If you're feeling clever go line a rest first, but in WRD that's liable to get you rekt. Soviet armored tactics also call for attacking from the march aka as soon as you see the enemy and you feel confident you have numerical superiority close and engage while firing on the move without bothering to dismount infantry or redeploy until you're at knife fighting range. If you really want you can try conducting Warsaw Pact style mechanized warfare, but at this game scale it's basically YOLO your forces down a road and when you run into the enemy leave a holding force and find a new road to YOLO down until you hit their spawn. These days it's more dated than my 80s pop culture references. He has some good shit like "don't fucking pack all ur doods in a tiny bomb friendly blob" and "use multiple types of AA when making an ADN" but it is all surrounded by fucking word salad and acres of irrelevant text.Īnd I read through it back when it was new shit.
